About the Author
I've been drawing for as long as I can remember, though I don't drawn as frequently as I probably should.
I love to tell stories. I always have, and I've come to learn that telling a story in a comic/graphic novel format is my favourite way to do so. Halón de Sangre was borne from an old webcomic I used to do, called 'Just Another Day'. It sucks, I know. The main idea of it was, that I could use this magical void I found in my closet to create worlds to go explore it. The long-term storyline I was planning to work towards, was that not all of the worlds I explored were my own imagination, and sometimes I would be called upon to restore balance in some other world. The first world I was going to have this happen in was Steelfeather's world. Goagleon (myself) would have been thrown in to Steel's body, and given control (with Steel still inside!). Goagleon's friend were also transported in, and thrown into the bodies of other people in the world (but they'd all be seperated).
Anyways, I was enjoying my pirate world too much, and disliking my Just Another Day more and more with each page I drew, that I scrapped that comic, and started working on Halcón. It's got a couple of the same characters (Steelfeather, Blaze and Tandem), but most of it is completely re-worked. I might even re-write the story line I did for JAD, and work it into my current one. I've been working on Halcón off and on for a good 3 or 4 years now, and I know I don't have much to show for it, but I go through phases in my art and hobbies. I get distracted and I work on something else for a period of time.
One thing that has been constant, is my desire to tell this story. No matter how long it takes, and no matter how long I leave it alone, I always come back to it. Halcón is my baby, and I will always work on it, albeit slowly.
Oh yeah, I guess I should say a bit more about me. I'm a huge animal lover, and I grew up around them. I have 1 1/2 cats, and a pet Tarantula. My cat's name is Ceridwen, and the 'half' cat, is Shoki, I bought him with my best friend. My Tarantula's name is Chasca.
I'm currently working full time as Assistant Manager at EB Games. I love my job. I get to talk about video games all day, and it's a nice, challenging job. Right now I'm working towards being Manager of my own store.
I have a ton of hobbies. I'm like... ADD with hobbies. I love to try new things. I can't count how many times I've seen something neat, and gone "Oh! That looks fun! I wanna try that!" Then I'll go spend a bunch of money on supplies, and then play with that new hobby for a few weeks.
Which isn't always a bad thing. I have a lot of different artsy supplies as a result. From pipe cleaners, to leather punches, to markers to cross stitching. Some stuff sticks. I love to cross stitch. It's a nice zen hobby to keep my hands busy.
I love to watch TV. It's great for working my artsy stuff and working on my comics. I have a tons of TV shows on DVD, and that's usually what I watch. I've been hooked on crime shows lately. Numb3rs, NCIS, Fringe, as well as long time loves, CSI and X-files. I'm a HUGE stargate geek, and I have all of that on DVD too.
